Facilitator for
Role at my institution:

Professor

I have been involved with designing of doctoral education curricula for different institutions, looking at alternatives to the traditional and hierarchical models of Master-Apprenticeship supervision. Instead, I support the activation of more democratic spaces for collaboration and networking around developing communities of scholarship: where both students and staff take co-responsibility for developing the directions and innovation of postgraduate research agenda. I am particularly interested in promoting coherent argumentation leading from grounded research problematics towards abstracting from in-depth fieldwork, and contributing to theoretical insights that address educational challenges in Africa, for Africa, and by Africans.
